05001 – How to Build Your Email List

To add contacts to your email list when they submit their details in one of your landing pages, simply follow these steps.

What you’ll need: An email system (auto-responder). There are many to choose from and you can use whatever system you prefer. KLEQ has deep integration with Aweber, Active Campaign, ConvertKit, Drip, Ontraport or InfusionSoft.

You have two options to add contacts to your email list. Either by applying a tag or with a web form code. If your system is not listed, you can use the web form code option to build your list instead.


 

Adding a Contact To Your Email List By Adding a Tag

  • Login to your site.
  • Make sure you are first integrated with your email system. You can integrate with your email system under Settings and then Integrations.
    Here’s how.
  • When integrated, go to Campaigns in the left-sidebar menu.
    Access your selected campaign, and select your Optin Page.
  • Select Form Settings from the left-sidebar menu
  • Under When user submits the form, choose your integrated emailing system and then select the relevant Tag you want added to your user’s profile in your emailing system.
  • Select the thank you page in the option Redirect to this page on optin.
  • Add Audience Segmentation
    If you are using an Audience booster, you may assign people to different groups.
    When you enable this feature, simply select the Audience from the drop-down.
    When they opt in, you can redirect them to different pages based on the audience group they belong to.
  • Click on SAVE.

You are done, when someone submits their details they are going to be added to your email system and the selected tag will be applied to their profile.


 

Adding a Contact To Your Email List With a Web Form

If your email system is not integrated you can also easily create a Web form in your emailing system first and then copy the web form code that they give you. All Emailing Systems will allow you to do this. Please check with their support if you need assistance in using their system.

IMPORTANT: Only copy the HTML Unstyled webform code and not a JavaScript or URL.

When you have your web form code follow these steps to add it to your Optin page:

  • Go to Campaigns in the left-sidebar menu, select your Landing Page.
  • Select Form Settings from the left sidebar menu.
  • Under the When user submits the form:,select the Send details to web form from the drop-down.
  • The Email System WebForm Code: box will be available and simply paste in your form code.
  • Select the thank you page in the option Redirect to this page on optin.
  • Add Audience Segmentation

  • Click on SAVE.

Your landing page is ready to go!

When someone enters their details on the form, they will be redirected to the thank you page you selected and they will be added to your emailing system. You can then easily follow up with them and send them emails right from your emailing system.
