This will allow your members to upgrade or downgrade their subscriptions.
This will be available to all users if their subscription is for the same product (Courses, Bundle, Forum/Specific Forum Category, and External product) and the current subscription cycle is less or higher than the new subscription.
To do this:
- Go to the Members Area in the admin, then select Online Courses.
- Click on the ellipsis (…) in the upper right-hand corner, and select Subscription Offers.
- The Subscription Offers pop-up window will appear.
To add an offer, click on the + Add New Item. - The Upgrade Offer pop-up window will appear.
Simply complete the information below:
Only admin can upgrade/downgrade:
If the switch is ON, only the administrator sees the upgrade/downgrade option in the subscription tables; the member does not see the option in the member area.
Product Type
Select the product type that you want to have the upgrade offers option.
You will find 4 options in the drop-down:
- Course – If this is selected, you will have to select the course name in the next option.
- Bundle – If this is selected, you will have to select the bundle name in the next option.
- Forum – If this is selected, you will have to select the forum access type in the next option.
+ Forum Full Access
+ Specific Forum Category – select the forum category in the next option. - External Product – If this is selected, you will have to select the course name in the next option.
Info Text
This will be the description text that the members will see in the Update Your Subscription window.
Currency
Select the specific currency you would like to display in your Update Your Subscription window.
Subscription Period
Select the subscription period either Weekly, Monthly, 3 Months, 6 Months, or yearly.
Subscription Price
Enter the price for the subscription.
Action
Some of the options in the Action drop-down will depend on the systems you have integrated on your KLEQ website. For example, if Drip is not integrated with your KLEQ site, the Apply Drip Tag option will not appear in the Action drop-down list.
Terms and Conditions
You may enter your Terms and Conditions here. This requires users to agree to your T&Cs before upgrading.
Perform action when Terms & Conditions are checked:
You can select None, or do actions such as Send webhook or apply a tag once an item is checked.
Once done, click on SAVE.
When someone purchased the same Course, Bundle, Forum/Specific Forum Category, and External product they will be able to have the Update Your Subscription option in their profile.
Allow Members to Downgrade
This will allow your members to downgrade their subscriptions.
To do this:
- Go to Members Area, then select Online Courses.
- Click on the ellipsis (…) in the upper right-hand corner, and select Subscription Offers.
- The Subscription Offers pop up window will appear.
Enable the Allow Members to Downgrade option by switching the toggle ON.NOTE: By default, if “Allow Members to Downgrade” is NOT enabled, members will only see the available subscription upgrade options for the same product however, if the toggle is enabled, members will also be able to see all available subscription downgrade options for the same product in the Member’s Area.
Update Subscriptions in the member’s area
Once the offers are already created in the admin area, your members will get access to update their subscriptions.
To do this:
- In the members area, click on the Avatar icon and then select Billing.
- The Billing pop-up window will appear.
Select the Subscriptions and then click on the Update Your Subscription button. - The Update Your Subscription pop-up window will appear.
This will show all the offers available. - Select from the offers by clicking the radio button, accept the terms and then click on the UPDATE button.
- NB: After clicking the UPDATE button.
For Stripe users, the upgrade will be automatically processed and the previous subscription will be canceled.
For PayPal users, they will be redirected to the PayPal’s login page that requires them to enter first. Once logged in, they will have to select the correct payment information.
NOTE: If there is a trial period, the upgrade will use any trial that the user might already be on. For example: If the user was on 14 day trial in monthly and he is on day 10 then there are 4 days left to his trial. This will be used when upgrading by creating a subscription with 4 days trial (The number of trial days left).
That’s it! You are done and your members can now upgrade or downgrade (if enabled) their subscription by logging in to their members area profile.
